What Causes Fear in Your Life Today?

His Hand is Touching Ours

This morning the air is almost still, the birds sing sweetly, and chimes join them; there is no sunshine but the woods pulse with expectation for this day. There is no fear in this place only the Awe of God and the knowledge of life. All of this stands in contrast to the fear of the moment as war rages and threats of nuclear annihilation pierce the airwaves. As my friend observed it is paradoxical that while evil tries to ravish the world, Grace and Mercy and pulsing Life continue to breath hope into our hearts- my heart- when I am stilled, in prayer and listening and abiding in Him. I will continue to be attentive to life and to nurture that life, and refuse to focus on death or man made fear. 

In Eccleciastes 12:13 we read, “This is the end of the matter; all has been heard, (all other discussion about life). Fear God and keep His commandments,(his laws or precepts), for this is the whole duty of man”. I would add that we now acknowledge that Jesus fulfilled the law and keep His commandments. In this age of uncertainty it is not trite, but rather critical that we continue to hold our God, our father, in holy Awe or fear. “The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm” (Proverbs 34:9)

See Jesus in All His Power and Authority

NO HARM! That is a promise I believe in because I do fear God and know that His power is greater, His purpose for me is higher than that of any earthly pain that Evil can devise. I realize that I didn’t always have this much faith or courage and wisdom to depend on God alone. Where it came from is a very long story with details of many victories won in Jesus Name. But I can summarize here: I came to believe that the scriptures that describe my identity and authority given to me in Christ are true and irrefutable. I experienced His presence and power over and over because of this. John 17:20-23 is a great place to start:

.Jesus prays for all believers, that all of them may be one,  “Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

Satan has been defeated in my circumstances every time I know all the above is true, declare it is true and in the power of Jesus Name command the evil one(s) to depart. But there are more promises to be added:

Ephesians 1:18-22(NIV)¹⁸ I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, ¹⁹ and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength ²⁰ he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, ²¹ far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. ²² And God placed all things under his feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church

Ephesians 2: 4-6... ends with this statement: And God Raised US up with Christ and seated US with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

This is the whole duty of man: Fear God, Know the Truth that He alone is over all and He alone wants the best, the good things for your life to flow, receive Him from HIM, unencumbered by the evil one. Abide and walk in that!
